About the project
As multiple projects were being developed across different teams and different products, the design language started to break. The design system needed to scale across to serve multiple products and teams.
Results
I led a group of 5 other designers to audit, plan, write and push components to front end libraries in phases for developers across the company to use in phases.
Role
Lead designer
Approach
Problem-framing to get buy in
We audited across several products to weed out the inconsistencies in padding, margins, component types and states, and even colours before starting any real proposal. The first hurdle to a design system overhaul was not how to organise the content, but how to get the buy-in from the people who were using, actively building and maintaining the existing design system to be on board with us for the changes we were about to propose.
Organising content in the best way possible
Content writing
An example of a visual guide on usage of components. The approach was to abstract away the details in the visuals to reduce noise in a content-heavy page.
